The Germans have again come up with another great technical invention called the Sonic Chair. It allows you to sit in the centre of a sound system which includes speakers in a carefully crafted body which amplifies bass tones. With further augmentation devices, the chair creates in the listener the feeling of a live performance with stunning clarity.

The German designers who created the Sonic Chair had in mind many uses and possible locations in which to place it. These include trade fairs, airport lounges, music stores, museums and of course, best of all, for the private home. It accomodates all kinds of musical tastes from classical, to pop and on through to Jazz (my personal favourite), and it also has numerous input jacks for laptops, iPods and CD players.

I wish this had been around when I was living in Berlin. The simple design lends itself to any number of interior spaces in the domestic sector. My neighbours would have been so jealous but also not too disturbed by noise pollution as this has an incredible sound insulation which thus creates an acoustic island. How? I’ve no idea but I want one.
