One drawback is it’s toxicity if, like the Devil’s Ivy, it is ingested and thus it should be kept clear of children and animals. This plant is extremely versatile in that it can thrive in a wide range of conditions from prolonged direct sun to constant shade. The leaves of this plant tend to have a couple or more different shades which make it an ideal ornamental plant for low light areas of the home.

House plants come in many shapes, sizes and types. Depending on the existing décor of the room, some of these will be ideal, and some not. So what are the three main types of indoor house plants?

1. Flowering plants

These include the Medinilla, the Oilcloth flower and various types of Lilly.

2. Foliage plants

Indoor foliage plants differ from the flowering indoor plants in that they rarely if ever produce flowers. These include the Chinese Evergreen Plant, English Ivy and various types of Fern.

3. Tropical plants

Young children, pets, family members with allergies, the size of the room and the climate of your location are all things to think about. With a little planning and research you will be able to find the perfect plants for your home interior.
