The Miss Sissi Table Lamp is a rather typical creation of the world renowned French designer Philippe Starck. One shouldn’t confuse ‘typical Starck’ however with typical anything else for he is a legend in his own right. I’ve written about Philippe Starck elsewhere (Philippe Starck biography and designs) and so today I will concentrate purely on this stylish ambient table lamp which Starck designed for Flos.

blue-miss-sissi-table-lampThe Miss Sissi Table Lamp was designed back in 1991 and has become one of Starck’s most well known creations in the lighting world. It provides ambient lighting to a generally localised area of a room in a choice of three colors. These are blue (as seen in the images), white and also green. The Miss Sissi Lamp is made from injection molded high temperature polycarbonate (quite a mouthful but good and strong) and comes with a weighted base and in-line switch.

miss-sissi-table-lamp-starckAs noted before, with a designer like Philippe Starck, anything made by this Frenchman will be quality. The lamp will make a wonderful feature on a bedside table in a master bedroom or as an ambient lighting fixture in the living room. With the famous name and the beautiful mix of color and light, the Miss Sissi Table Lamp is an inspiring decor feature to have in most types of interior.

You can read more about its specifications and also the purchasing details from here: Miss Sissi Table Lamp by Philippe Starck.

At the time of writing it was priced at $120.
