The Wooden Furniture of Famunka’s Laszlo Balog

I came across the work of Hungarian designer Laszlo Balog whilst perusing the design alleys of the internet. Now living in Holland, Balog has gained fame by his wonderful craftsmanship of children’s wooden furniture as see in the image below. He is the name behind the label faMUNKA which is Hungarian for woodwork.

This is really clever! It reminds me quite a bit of my great uncle, who hand-made wooden toys and toy chests from his little shop out back of his house. There’s something rich and authentic about that style which I adore.
