Dark Walled French Kitchen by Design Duo ‘Hand’

I came across this lovely looking dark walled kitchen when surfing through some design blogs. It’s by the French design company called HAND which is run by Pierre Emmanuel Martin and St├ęphane Garotin. The images follow on nicely from the dark bedroom theme I explored in an earlier post this week.

For further details and more pictures visit the blog of Danielle de Lange. She also provides a link to the place where you can purchase the round silver tray that is hanging on the wall. There’s something about well designed dark kitchens that I rather like.

Update: I’ve only just realised that it’s the same dark brown colour on the kitchen walls as has been used for this website’s background. Interesting, completely useless information but interesting nevertheless.

You have some good ideas for kitchens. That has been one of the recurring themes in my own life–looking for a way to make our bathrooms and our kitchen look really glorious, even though those rooms are much too small. One of the glories of the Internet, though, is that there is absolutely no dearth of ideas. Right now I have no idea of what I will ultimately do, but I keep hoping I will come up with something really slick.

Small kitchens and bathrooms are tricky. My bathroom is tiny with little natural light. I’ve made us of a lot of white which helps. I think these dark walled rooms are definitely for rooms with a lot of natural light already present via large windows.
